Friendliness is the trait that sets Julia Portillo and the rest of the Circus Circus Reno One Club Executive Hosts apart from the rest.

"I enjoy working around people. I meet people from different places every day. It doesn't get boring. There's something different every day," Julia said.

This is her favorite part of the job, and she does it well. Each day it is the goal of Julia to make contact with each and every Circus Circus player, no matter how much money they spend.

"I like to approach everybody. You just don't know when that little fish will turn into a whale."

Julia has been an employee of Circus Circus Reno for over 10 years. She began in the slots department and became a One Club host 6 years ago. Originally from El Salvador, Julia speaks both English and Spanish fluently, an asset she is very proud to have. Julia has lived in the United States since 1990.

When Julia is not at work she enjoys warm weather activities such as camping, going to Lake Tahoe and having barbeques in the park.

As an Executive Host, Julia is responsible for making contact with players, whether they are new to Circus Circus or have been visiting for years. She talks to them about their gaming preferences, makes room and dinner reservations, and invites the players to concerts and tournaments. Julia is very friendly to everyone she meets, and she believes the guests of Circus Circus truly appreciate this.

"Being loyal and sincere to our customers helps a lot. They trust you and that makes us feel good."
