Completions mark more progress in Eldorado Resorts $50 million reinvestment
RENO, NV (July 26, 2017) – Big changes continue to happen at the Eldorado Resorts Reno properties with the newest renovated spaces opening at Circus Circus Reno, including the all-new XP Arcade and Party Rooms, Madame Butterwork’s Curious Café, Piezzetta Pizza Kitchen and Panda Express. The latter two openings signify the completion of the Hotel Casino’s new food court space where a buffet once resided.
XP Arcade adds 40 additional arcade-style games to the property in a 5,300 square-foot space that once belonged to the Americana Café. Two party rooms were also built inside the new arcade and are suited to host birthday parties, team building events and even social activities like bachelor and bachelorette parties. The arcade offers the latest and greatest in games, including the world’s largest Pacman and Space Invaders games. All of the new games are running on the Intercard system, which is new for Circus Circus, and allows guests to load money on an ATM-style card for game play, eliminating the need for coins to play. The cards also store tickets earned from redemption games which can be redeemed at the all-new prize counter built inside XP Arcade and eliminates the need for paper tickets. Eventually, all of the arcade and midway games at Circus Circus will move to this advanced style of cashless management for game play.
“This is a very exciting time for Circus Circus Reno and we can’t wait for families to come out and have the time of their lives at our new XP Arcade,” said Gene Carano, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations for Eldorado Resorts. “The new Intercard system makes paying for and playing arcade games more convenient for our guests and along with the party rooms, will help us better accommodate fun seekers.”
XP Arcade also includes The Blast Bar, an area where parents can relax and enjoy one of several types of frozen daiquiris or other adult beverages while still being nearby with their children at play.
Late last year, Circus Circus completed a $2 million renovation to the Carnival Midway which included a new stage for world-class circus acts, three new Midway games, a refreshed, whimsical look and colorful new flooring.
In the space that formerly housed The Steakhouse at Circus Circus Reno is a new, one-of-a-kind breakfast restaurant, Madame Butterwork’s Curious Café who’s signature items include Curious Hash Browns, a huge plate of hash browns topped with choice of meats like corned beef and pastrami from Canter’s Deli and breakfast classics like sausage, ham and bacon as well as cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onions and two eggs. Fresh out of the oven is a Dutch Baby Pancake, a sweet popover-type pancake that is baked in a pan, magically rich, light and crispy all at the same time and served with butter, powdered sugar and fresh lemon wedges. Other delicious specialties include a gigantic Apple-licious pancake, Swedish pancakes, chicken fried steak and eggs and a dungeons crab benedict. Madame Butterwork’s Curious Café is open Thursday through Monday from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m., with extended hours and grab and go food and drink available at the restaurant’s coffee counter.
Piezzetta Pizza Kitchen and Panda Express are now open inside Circus Circus, joining The Habit Burger Grill and completing the addition of a budget-friendly, fast casual food court where the Hotel Casino’s buffet was previously located.
Piezzetta is the creation of Italian father-son duo, Harry and Chris Ilardo, and Italian-trained Chef James Schroeder. It’s a simple modern concept inspired by the old world Italian cooking. Here, homemade crusts are assembled and rolled in the kitchen while guests choose from ingredients like ground lamb, goat cheese and truffle oil to build the most flavorful, eclectic (or traditional, if that’s what you’re looking for) pizza combinations. Customers order and watch their meals get meticulously pieced together, then baked and served hot in three minutes or less without compromising taste.
Panda Express, America’s favorite Chinese kitchen, is best known for its wide variety of original recipes including its Original Orange Chicken, SweetFire Chicken Breast, award-winning Honey Walnut Shrimp and Shanghai Angus Steak. Founded in 1983 and now with more than 2,000 locations throughout the world. Panda Express is part of the family-owned and operated Panda Restaurant Group, the world leader in Asian dining experiences that also includes Panda Inn and Hibachi-San.
“As a family-friendly Hotel Casino, it is very important to us that we are able to offer high-quality food that is equal parts budget friendly, delicious and healthy,” said Gregg Carano, Executive Vice President of Food and Beverage. “We are also proud to have Reno’s first Habit Burger Grill and Piezzetta Pizza Kitchen locations, as well as an additional Panda Express location, to meet these needs for our guests.”
