Cheech and Chong
Dates & TimeFri, Oct 12 | 8pm
The comedy duo that found a wide audience in the 1970s and ‘80s centered on free love and cannabis, Cheech and Chong, are back to their shenanigans with an all-new live performance on Friday, Oct. 12.
Best-known for routines such as “Dave’s Not Here,” “Earache My Eye,” “Basketball Jones” and “Santa Clause and His Old Lady,” Cheech and Chong have shared their hilariously irreverent, satirical, counter-culture, no-holds-bar view of the world for over four decades. Between 1971 and 1985 they released nine albums, starting with the release of their first album, “Cheech and Chong,” to “Up in Smoke” to “Big Bambu’,” success was quick. Six albums went gold, four were nominated for Grammys, and “Big Bambu’” became the largest-selling comedy recording of all time.
The critically-acclaimed duo starred in eight feature films together. Movies like “Up in Smoke,” a cult classic, was the highest grossing comedy of 1978, topping $100 million at the box office. In 2018, “Up in Smoke” will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special Blu-Ray Combo Pack featuring a brand new short-form documentary “How Pedro Met the Man: Up in Smoke at 40” and more. They co-wrote and co-directed all of their films. Prior to their split in 1985, the duo released their album “Get Out of My Room,” which included the novelty hit song “Born in East L.A.” based on Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.”
Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 17. This is an 18 and older show.
